Commission on the Status of Women
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) was introduced parallely to the Human Rights Commission. The CSW was composed of 15 members and since 1990 count 45. The meetings are convened in New York every spring since 1992. The Commission is supported by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.

Mandate
The mandate of the CSW includes the production of recommendations and reports of the ECOSOC that aim at improving the situation and legal status of women in political, economic and social realms.
