«The Committee urges the State party to continue its efforts to combat trafficking in women and girls. It recommends the formulation of acomprehensive strategy, which should include measures of prevention, theprosecution and punishment of offenders and increased international, regional and bilateral cooperation. It calls on the State party to ensure that trafficked women and girls have the support they need, including residence permits, sothat they can provide testimony against their traffickers. It further urges thattraining of border police and law enforcement officials be pursued so as to enable them to render support to victims of trafficking. The Committee recommends the development of programmes of action for women forced intoprostitution by poverty and the adoption of all appropriate measures to combatand eradicate the exploitation of prostitution, including the prosecution of, and strong penalties for, those who exploit prostitutes. The Committee requests theState party to provide in its next report comprehensive information and dataon the trafficking of women and girls and the exploitation of prostitutes.»
