Working Group for a National Human Rights Institution
Creating a Swiss national institution for human rights has been a topic of discussion for many years. More than one hundred NGOs and individuals support this initiative. In 2000, a number of these organisations, all well recognised in the Swiss landscape of human rights defence, created a working group. This group aimed at creating a human rights institution at the national level in Switzerland, as is the case in many other countries. Since then, the Working Group for a Human Rights Institution has been lobbying for this project.
The Working Group published a flyer and a position paper that specify its objectives. These documents can be found in the section Documentation of the political process.
