Individual complaints procedure
To this day, Switzerland has neither signed not ratified the Optional Protocol to the CEDAW concerning the individual communication procedure of 9 October 1999.
Reports by Switzerland
In the reporting system, the 23 experts body of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) examined two cycles of periodic reports submitted by Switzerland. The Committee monitors the implementation of national measures to fulfil this obligation. It also makes specific recommendations on any issue affecting women to which it believes the States parties should devote more attention.
