Online Legal Handbook on Racial Discrimination

In this section Humanrights.ch offers an Online Legal Handbook on Racial Discrimination for Switzerland. It is available in German and, to some extent, in French; a translation into English is not planned. You can access the national language versions of the handbook by selecting the following link:

The objective of the handbook is to advise social workers in their counselling of persons who are victims of racial discrimination. Being online, the handbook aims to support them on a very practical level and is intended for daily use. The handbook is divided into three parts:

  • General information about racism
  • Consultation work, including a list of the offices in Switzerland
  • Legal advice related to racial discrimination, on subjects such as work, rent, leisure, or the anti-racist penal norm.

The handbook has been edited by the Foundation against Racism and Anti-Semitism (GRA) and Humanrights.ch. It was prepared within a project supported by the Federal Commission against Racism and Humanrights.ch seeking to create a network of services counselling victims of racial discrimination in Switzerland.
