A recent report claims there were 30% more reported racist incidents in Switzerland in 2007 than in 2006. According to the Foundation against Racism and Anti-Semitism (GRA) and the Society for Minorities in Switzerland (GMS), 113 cases were reported in 2007, for 87 in 2006 (49 registered by the Federal Commission against Racism). Victims are mostly Muslims, coloured persons and Jews. Both organisations ask for a better prevention by raising awareness and by maintaining the anti-racist penal law.
