Ethical Swiss textile industry?

More than 21 000 persons have signed the Berne Declaration’s petition « For clothes produced in dignity ». The petition calls the Swiss mode industry to present clothes produced in dignity and transparency.

The number of entrepreneurs who insist on fair working conditions from their contractors is still relatively small. The evaluation of Swiss textile industry undertaken by the Berne Declaration show that only two firms are qualified as « good ». On 27 November 2008 the complete result will be presented on www.fashioncheck.ch.
