Reservations

When ratifying the ICCPR, Switzerland made nine reservations, of which five were withdrawn. Four reservations are still valid.

Optional Protocols

Switzerland did not ratify the First Optional Protocol about individial communication. It did however ratify the Second Optional Protocol aiming at the abolition of the death penalty. 

Reports by Switzerland

To this day, the Human Rights Committee examined four periodic reports prepared by Switzerland in the years 1996, 2001, 2009, and 2017.
